Investing in Trimoss artisanal glass is more than an aesthetic choice; it is an architectural commitment to light and craft. To ensure your bespoke pieces retain their brilliance for decades and remain covered under our 1-year manufacturing warranty, strict adherence to installation protocols is essential.
While generic ceramic tiles are often cleaned with diluted acids to remove grout haze, our hand-fused glass surfaces require a more sophisticated approach.
Surface Etching: Acidic solutions (including common “natural” hacks like vinegar or lemon juice) react with delicate glass finishes, causing permanent dull, cloudy patches or a rough, pockmarked texture.
Adhesive Failure: Harsh chemicals can penetrate tile joints and break down the chemical bonds of the adhesive, potentially causing tiles to loosen or detach over time.
Discoloration: Acids can catalyze reactions that lead to “rust-like” blooms or permanent staining within the artisanal layers of the glass.
To maintain your warranty and structural integrity, your installer must follow these two rules:
pH-Neutral Adhesives Only: Use only premium, non-acidic setting materials. For our hand-fused glass, we recommend bright white, polymer-modified thin-set mortars which enhance the transparency and color of the glass.
No Acidic Post-Install Cleaning: Use only clean water or a specialist pH-neutral detergent with a soft lint-free cloth or sponge for final cleanup.
